webcomic

been toying with the idea for a webcomic for years. embarassingly long, actually. recently i've been spending time working on drawing some character designs (in the broadest sense of the word) and coming up with a basic premise and some gags.

here's some doodles for character ideas all combined into one pic

the basic idea behind this will be a zoo of wacky animals and my wacky thoughts. zoo animals don't really have mixed habitats and perhaps a barn would fit better but it doesn't matter... they are going to talk, walk, watch movies, etc... I think I can toss out the idea of worrying about mixing habitats.

and for no reason other than it's the most recent drawing I've done... here's a Corgi as a Jedi.you can see more at scruffyscribbler.deviantart.com

So here is an Idea.....

Ok here is a picture I did for a vigilante concept I had. I am not a fan of the chest logo design so I kind of left it alone. I'll probably go back at it again later but I thought I would give you a peek into how I think.

back to basics

I'm a jack of a few different trades. I can draw, I can write, I can... eat? Albeit none of them can be accomplished as well as I can eat. Dare I say I am a pro when it comes to eating... the rest needs work.

That's what this place is for.

So here's some quick sketches - just trying to get some gestures down. Trying to keep things loose. Nothing has any reference and that's why they are probably off. I am no professional.

Invitations

In hopes of keeping creative I invited some pals of mine to contribute. They are creative and brilliant in their own rights. Hopefully by having people of such higher standards than myself here, I'll feel more apt to contribute here.

thanks for your time

It's a Small Wonder pedophiles weren't caught in record amounts...

I'm not exactly sure how it happened but I found myself in a discussion about the 80's tv show Small Wonder and it got me to thinking... and that's never a good thing for anyone involved.

I stared wondering what kind of man would create this show? Who would invent a robot that looks, acts, reacts, smells, etc just like a human... and then make it appear like a child?! Even today there's people out there trying to create robots to simulate humans... so we can fuck it!

I guess us men are trying everything we can to separate our desires from the obvious sexual need of a woman. And for those of us not willing to chow down on a pork sausage, nor willing to just rape a declawed animal of our choosing... our options are pretty limited. But all of that is for another topic on another date.

Enter another option: androids!

Small Wonder ran for 4 seasons! From 85 to 89 men could gather around a tv and watch a story about a guy who builds an android and makes it look like a little girl and kept it in a closet, taught it to keep secrets, train it to his desires, and did everything he could to keep her away from the government!  She even has ports that the guy has to stick the male end of cords into in order to interact with her. He put those ports in her armpit... I'm guessing he had other ports not shown to us because then the F.C.C. would have been onto this show's devious details!

The show was "created" by Howard Leeds - he wrote the first episode. Who's that? I agree... who is that? I know nothing about the guy nor am I making any aspersions about him but he apparently worked on a show called MY LIVING DOLL in 1964 about a sexy young woman who was actually a robot... anyone else weirded out yet?

No?

This dude wrote on every kid show I could think of!

Brady Bunch! All of you should be familiar with the goings on behind the scenes of that show...

He also created Silver Spoons. A show about a kid who had everything he wanted...

He developed Facts of Life! Molly was eaten by Natalie on that show! How else do you explain her disappearance?!

He produced and wrote for Diff'rent Strokes! A show where a dude takes in two young boys and doesn't give them everything they could ever want unless he got what he wanted first!

AND HE EXECUTIVE PRODUCED THE BICYCLE MAN EPISODE!!!! The episode where Arnold escapes the evil clutches of a pedophile and leaves Dudley to play "submarine" in a tub with the creepy old white guy, Gordon Jump's character, "Mr. Horton!"

The man who wrote that very special episode was someone named Blake Hunter (fake name if I've ever heard one!)... who worked on Who's the Boss, Diff'rent Strokes and WKRP (which had Gordon Jump)...

Bothered a bit now?

No?

And they let Mr. Horton get away with his pedophile ways! Oh sure, Arnold was safe... and perhaps they saved Dudley from discovering what the term "periscope up" meant in that tub - we'll never know. But they endangered every other child out there by allowing Mr. Horton to escape the long arm of the law on a technicality! They went into that store without a warrant! Just a couple fathers leading the crusade with a couple detectives... a public defender will have Mr. Horton back in his bike shop before the next morning trying to get children to see his Lama and drink some Jesus juice.

Coincidences? I don't think so...

For what it's worth, I think they should go through the Nielsen Ratings books for the Small Wonder tv show and investigate everyone who watched it!
